Product Description 
DataPort VIII is the ultimate system when continuous visual monitoring of a hard disk drive is required. It features an advanced design for high capacity disk drives operating at 7,200rpm and above. The DataPort VIII has a cast aluminum alloy frame and carrier, SCSI ID selector switch with LCD display, and gold-plated connectors. The DataPort VIII comes with dual ball bearing fans; one fan in front draws outside air in while a fan in back pushes heat out and away from the unit. CRU's patented Temperature Controlled Cooling System (TCCS) is a standard feature of the DataPort VIII and is coupled with an audible fan failure and overheating alarm.

DataPort in Multiple Drives Configurations
When connecting two or more Ultra2 Wide/LVD SCSI hard disk drives in a single SCSI channel, it is recommended to use CRU 2, 3 and 4-Bay backplanes with either DataPort VI Ultra Wide (68-pin) or SCA (80-pin) carriers.

When connecting two or more Ultra160 SCSI hard disk drives in a single SCSI channel, it is recommended to use CRU 2, 3 and 4-Bay backplane with DataPort VI SCA (80-pin) carriers only.

CRU offers DataPort VI carriers with backplanes in RAID Ready enclosures, 2 & 4-Bay Sub System and 2, 3, & 4  Bay Backplane kits.
